Save with Energy Efficient Shades

If you’re looking to upgrade your window treatments, now is the best time to consider one of our favorite window treatments for the entire home: Hunter Douglas Duette® Cellular Shades. These shades are award-winning and our top choice for a reason. They are the most energy efficient window treatment on the market, and they will provide your home with a gorgeous, unique look that combines the aesthetic of a roller shade and classic living room blinds. The unique look of these shades comes from the honeycomb shaped cells created by layering the shade and creating air pockets. This design is what traps unwanted hot or cold air at the window and prevents your room from reaching an unwanted temperature.

Inflation Reduction Act and the Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit

We have some great news for homeowners looking to implement energy reducing shades! As part of the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, the federal government is offering a tax credit for energy efficient home upgrades. This particular part of the Inflation Reduction Act is called the Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit and it began on January 1, 2023. The primary goal of the credit is to act as an incentive for everyday Americans to make environmentally friendly choices and save money - which helps both the individual household’s bottom line and works to fight against climate change.

Starting in 2023, a new $1,200 annual tax credit limit is set to replace the existing $500 lifetime limit. That means, if you’re planning to many any home improvements to boost the energy efficiency of your home, like window treatments from Hunter Douglas, you may save some money in the form of a tax rebate on a percentage spent on the total of your energy efficient projects up to $1,200 now that the Inflation Reduction Act has been signed into law.

Upgrading to Duette® Cellular Shades

All said, this seems to be terrific news as it relates to integrating Hunter Douglas Duette® Cellular Shades to help reduce home energy usage and make homes more comfortable across the United States. Energy efficient shades like Hunter Douglas Duette® Cellular Shades can be a cost-effective solution that can be installed in most homes to make an immediate impact with very little disruption to the household. Not only will you save money on your energy bill, but you will earn back some of the money spent on the upgrade - how cool is that?
